Memo on Moratorium on Large Gatherings in the Loyola Schools

Loyola Schools VP's Memo on Moratorium on Large Gatherings

MEMO TO: The Loyola Schools Community
FROM: Ma. Assunta C. Cuyegkeng (Vice President for the Loyola Schools)

SUBJECT: Moratorium on Large Gatherings in the
Loyola Schools

As part of the
precautionary measures of the Loyola Schools against the Influenza A (H1N1) virus and in view of the actual H1N1 cases in the country, we are declaring a moratorium on large gatherings (i.e., beyond 500 participants) :

* Until 28 June 2009 for those involving members of the LS community only

* Until 12 July 2009 for those involving non-LS personnel (e.g.,parents,
conference participants)

Furthermore, we reiterate that each member of the LS community should comply with the guidelines and precautionary measures stated in the memo dated 25 May 2009 on the Precautions against the H1N1 virus.

We regret the inconvenience it may cause the organizers of these gatherings, but the health and safety of the LS community is our primary concern. Since we cannot fully control the attendance of people who may have been exposed to the virus or their observation of precautionary measures, it will be very difficult to manage the risk to large numbers of attendees in these gatherings.

We urge those concerned to make the needed adjustments in their schedules. Please let us know if we can assist you in any way.

Thank you very much for your cooperation.
